This moisturizer is different because it's made by someone with firsthand experience of what it's like to live with a debilitating dry skin condition. My husband was born with an extremely dry skin condition that made it almost impossible to form a fist; anytime he did, his knuckles would crack and bleed and he would be in excruciating pain.
After trying so many lotions and creams, I made it my mission to make him a moisturizer that actually lasted all day so that he would not have to go through constant reapplications. And I succeeded! Not only did the moisturizing cream last all day but with constant use, his skin has tremendously improved.
In addition to its long-lasting moisture retention, this skin cream is handmade with natural and safe ingredients. This is not one of those lotions purchased in bulk and repackaged for profit. It is handmade in small batches here in the United States.
I am a firm believer in less is more. I use few ingredients in each product so that the active (main) ingredient can shine. Lactic acid is an exfoliant. It works by gently sloughing away the top layer of skin to reveal the new soft layer of skin underneath. In addition to it's exfoliant ability, it also has moisturizing abilities so that your skin stays nice and soft even as it gently breaks down the top layer. Niacinamide Niacinamide helps brighten the skin, especially if its patchy or uneven. It also helps the skin retain moisture. Full list of ingredients

* Ingredients are subject to change. WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS EXFOLIATING CREAM When you first apply this cream, you might experience some stinging- this should go away in just a few minutes. I recommend that you do a patch test just to make sure that your skin can actually handle the Lactic Acid. The first few days of using this moisturizer, you may experience peeling. It will be more noticeable on the palms of your hands but the rest of your skin will also experience this. Use a washcloth to scrub off the loose skin at least once a week (you'll be amazed at how much skin comes off). If you’ve never used lactic acid lotion before, start with a lower strength such as lactic acid lotion of 10% or 15%. From there, you can move up This exfoliating lotion can be used just like any other moisturizer all over your body except your face and other sensitive areas. HOW TO USE THIS MOISTURIZING CREAM Always start with clean skin. Preferably, take a shower or bath before each use. 1. Use on Slightly damp skin but not wet. The damp skin allows the lotion to be absorbed faster deeper into the skin. 2. Scoop out a small amount of cream into the palms of your hands and rub together. This is important because it will allow you to have a wider surface for application and it will a lot more even on the skin. 3. Apply the lotion one area at a time and work your way into other areas of your body. 4.Wait a few minutes for the lotion to settle on your skin before putting on clothes. 5. if you need a touch up later on, apply as needed. 6. Manually exfoliate your skin once a week. pay attention to the thicker areas of your skin. Be gentle when you exfoliate. * Note: At some point, you may notice excessive itching after you've been using the cream for a while (Maybe 2 weeks). This might be an indication that whatever area is itching may need exfoliation. WARNING 1. For external use only. Do not use internally for whatever reason. Do not swallow. 2. FAQS Is Lactic Acid Lotion/Cream Right For Me? Lactic acid is a gentle exfoliant that is ideal for various skin types. If you have never used lactic acid before, start with a low-strength lotion like our 10% or 12% lactic Acid Lotion. As your skin gets used to it, you can increase the strength to 15% and eventually to 20%. Do I Need To Wash This Cream Off? No. This Lactic acid lotion is meant to be used like any other moisturizer. Unless you’re experiencing an adverse reaction to the lotion, then you can leave it on until your next shower/bath. You will only feel slight stinging when you first apply the lotion, but that will only last less than a minute. Does This Cream Contain Sunscreen? No. This lotion does not have sunscreen in it. Do I Need Sunscreen With Lactic Acid Cream? Lactic acid will increase your sensitivity to the sun. If you’re going to be out in the sun, don’t use lactic lotion or you could use sunscreen to protect yourself. Is Lactic Acid Lotion Safe? For most people, lactic acid is generally safe. Make sure you do a patch test before using this product to make sure you are not allergic. Lactic acid is naturally occurring in our skin and it’s also been used in skincare for thousands of years. A Mermaid’s Grace formulation is very gentle. Can I Use Lactic Acid Every day?
Yes, you can. However, you’ll find that after a while, your skin will start getting used to the lotion. When you first start using lactic acid lotion, your skin will experience a lot of exfoliation. After a while, your skin will build up tolerance against the lactic acid then you won’t see the same dramatic results.
In this case, you should alternate between a regular lotion (no lactic acid), a lower-strength lactic acid lotion, and a higher-strength lactic acid. You could choose just two to alternate. My Skin is Really Dry And Cracked, Can I use Lactic Acid Lotion You can. However, if your skin has deep cuts from the cracks, lactic acid will make it uncomfortable. You should start off with a deeply moisturizing cream to help with the cracks. once your skin is no longer cracked, then you can start with a lower-strength lactic acid and move up from there and alternate.
